Recently hired as Director of Music, Worship and Technology at First United Methodist Church in Corinth, Ms. Dave Cornelius is the former CEO of DAConsulting, director of Digital Media Outreach Programs for High School Journalism and Barrett Honors Professor of Online Media at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication as well as Professor of Digital Film Production and Sound Design at Grand Canyon University.
Before coming to ASU, he built the state’s premier high school broadcast education program at Arcadia High School in the Scottsdale School District. Cornelius has received numerous awards, including the ACTEAZ Program of the Year, Arizona Spotlight on Success Award, Everyday Heroes Cox Communications Technology in Education Award and Apple Distinguished Educator award. He is a leader in the development of industry certification standards and a major force behind Arizona’s shift towards quality multimedia journalism at the secondary level.
Most recently he served as campus director for the Arrowhead Innovation Campus a creative community collaboration between education, industry and governmental stakeholders designed to prepare students for employment in the media arts industries.
In addition, he led industry teams in the redesign of Arizona’s multimedia technology standards and end of program assessments. He also served on the Arizona Stakeholder’s Commission, the Board of Directors for School Tube, was the International Higher Education Coordinator for the Global Education Collaborative http://www.globaleducationconference.com and represents the Inter-mountain Region on the Board of Directors for the Student Television Network.
He still provides technical training for the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association, Cronkite New Media Academy, Dow Jones News Fund Internship program, Summer Journalism Institute, Reynolds Institute, Barrett Summer Scholars, Village Voice and online media instructional programs.
